If on Clark Grizwald was able to haul his family to Wally World in the in the BMW 3 series model 328i xDrive Sports Wagon.  BMW is one of a very select group of maybe two or three manufactures who can put out a station wagon that many people actually want to own. Typically, wagons bring up visions of kids, groceries, pets, soccer practice. Of course these things are good too but they’re not topics that one associates with being cool or stylish. The 328 xDrive Sports Wagon is much more than a pet-toting kid taxi. You get a car that is fun to operate, good-looking, and high performance.

The 328i xDrive has a starting MSRP of $37,700. The engine is a more than adequate 3.0 liter inline 6-cylinder that puts out an impressive 230 horsepower. The vehicle goes 0 to 60 in 7.4 seconds. One can expect to get approximately 25 mpg when driving on the highway. This is not exactly what one would consider to be great fuel economy, but not so bad either, when you consider the size of the engine. The standard transmission is a 6-speed manual. Think of tooling around in a station wagon ramping up the RPMs and flying through gears. One can request an automatic transmission, but where’s the fun in that. Even with a boring old automatic tranny, BMW’s sports wagon will be just as responsive.

The xDrive component itself is what really makes this car standout. Yes, one still gets the trusted all-wheel-drive system. What the xDrive does to enhance it is to assess the road conditions and self-correct its own settings to provide the smoothest ride possible. While the driver and his or her passengers enjoy the comfortable ride, the car takes care of itself.
