Can the BMW 3 Series Really Get Any Better?

Significant enhancements are coming for the 2011 BMW 3 Series coupe and convertible.  Also expect to see terrific style refinements for 328i and 335i models, along with a new engine for the 335i.  Coming to showrooms in the spring of this year, pricing will be revealed as the lineup is readied to roll out.

Primary characteristics will remain intact, features like precision steering, finely tuned engineering and the remarkable 50/50 weight distribution, which come together to deliver the premier driving experience that is uniquely BMW.

The 335i model will benefit from an all new engine – a turbo charged, all aluminum construction the keeps essential features but adds elements that evolved from five years of refinement.  The final product delivers more fuel economy with a cleaner operation, but maintains the heart and guts:  300hp and 300 pound/foot of torque.  Not to worry BMW traditionalists, the six speed manual gearbox stays put, but you can also upgrade to the Steptronic automatic in a 6-speed format.

Unique design elements on the coupe and convertible echo the sporty character of these models, but the classic silhouette of the BMW 3 series remains immediately familiar.  Classic lines have not been misplaced but rather enhanced with detailed taillights, headlights and even specifically created exterior mirrors.

Along with trademark proportions, fresh design lines – lower sill, character and the shoulder – reinforce the clean exterior shape.  Character and shoulder lines extend uninterrupted along the car while the lower edge sill line emphasize the vibrant nature.

From a design perspective the melding of these lines in elegant style reinforces the tremendous performance potential.  An impertinent flare around each rear wheel adds an extra upward dimension.

If you’d like to see a BMW 3 series vehicle sitting in your garage – or better yet if you’d like to see yourself sitting behind the wheel – visit Otto’s BMW.  Currently they are offering 2.9% financing for 60 months on the 3 series for model year 2010.
